I was wondering what everyone's favorite model of the vmax is ? iv'e always loved the 83 and wanted one since they came out and finally got a good one.and now iv'e got my sights set on a 86 i like the lightning bolt graphics and the padded tank. (brad you still got that 86 for sale?).

I like the decals on the 85 but, the seats on the 86's on up are real lookers and so nice on the rear end......

I agree 85 is great ,and the newer seats are something they should have put on from the start!!

The newer ones have the separate hand warmer circuit.
I really like the pleated seat and the refective thunderbolt graphics on my '86.

Since I sat on my first 81 SRX always loved them I bought one for $50 gonna put a 540
in it and ride it but it could be worth lots of money one day not sure if I should...

really like the 81s but if i could find a 91 i would be all over it.well there all nice and look awsome to me.

81 - 83 for me. I also like the newer seats. Never really liked the crack between the seat and the fuel tank area. The SRV had the nice seat in those early years, why they didn't carry it over to the Vmax I don't know. Thanks.

I liked the 86 myself. But I prefer the 87 better. Those decals seem to give the sled a little more "flash" (plus it seems like you don't see many 87 around...even for sale). And I like the pleated seats better on the 86 and up sleds. I really like the canadian seat color. Seems to give that sled a "richer" look too.
