I have noticed photos of original and restored VMAXs have a piece of metal in front of the pipes that mine does not have.
It is piece 33 in the attached image.
What is it called?
Why was it installed?
What problems Might I experience if that part is missing?
Would that be the reason I get so much water running around under my engine?
How is it attached to the frame?
Do I need to get one for my machine to run right?
Missing part between front bumper and pipes
I have bought at least 15 Vmax's from 1983-87's and None have had this Heat deflector(?) I see more on the newer 540's like 1987's on up. I believe it may have been a accessory for the older 540's ? I use insulated reflective heat tape on the underside of my hood and have no issues !
