440 exciter performance

Post by 8R9SRX »

was wondering if anyone knows if dualcarbs would do anything for performance on the 440 single carbed fan cooled exciters. also looks like a set of SRX pipes would bolt on with out much trouble....wadda ya guys think ??

:? Never owned a fan cooled Exciter...... but, I did have a single carbed/piped SRV and most aftermarket'ers agreed that boring the carb out, adding a performance single pipe and modifying the airbox was the way to go. I did exactly that and my 85 SRV would really haul the mail especially up to about 70 m.p.h. !

I had a exciter 440 last year i mod'd a bit , I put GPX pipes on it , , , Have to heat wrap them tho because the fan will suck in the hot air too much and over heat , I put twin 38mm carbs with phazer boots and equalizer , Boyesen reeds , and twin K&Ns workd nicely together
