Are you sure the seal is 25x44x7? I measured one today and it was 25x42.

25 44 11 is what mine has printed on it (83 model). A couple 25 44 7 can be used with a few mm removed from both? I'd try it but don't need at this time. They are rated for 250* and 7 psi individually.mcbang wrote:Are you sure the seal is 25x44x7? I measured one today and it was 25x42.
I see absolutely no need to get the newer housing if you use to right seal combo and install properly. The 83 case will be just as good. I don't think it matters which way the seal spring faces either as both sides will get lubed from either coolant or oil. I think whats really important is to not overheat these on marginal snow or ice. The seals only hold about 7 psi so watch the temp and they should last a good long time.
