'81 SRX 440 track

Post by Yam429 »

I need to replace the track on my '81 SRX 440. What track will work best on this sled? It is a 121x 15 right? Not sure what the stock lug height is, .075? What is the pitch? I don't want to change out drivers. Thanks

Fortunately, the 1981 SRX and Vmax's used one of the most common tracks that was ever made in the sled industry.
121" long, 15" wide
2.52 pitch...which matches the stock drivers
I think you're right on the lug height being close to 3/4 inch.

You can use these specs to find a good, used track....all of the major OEMs used this track at one time or another on many of their models.
Or, certainly new tracks are available.
I'm sure you could bump up to a 1" lug height if you wanted....just depends what you may have planned for studding the track, if you choose to do that.

.525" was stock height I recommend going with 3/4" which is a huge improvement especially, with todays lug patterns. 3/4" will still allow for reasonable studding.
