Cold Day at Fish Lake

Post by sledheadron »

Went to the Fish Lake vintage ride, saw a couple V Max's, mine was the only 83 though. Pretty cold today, but the sled an pretty crisp, first time out with the new pipes! Runs good and pulls hard, just have a little fine tuning to do clutch wise.

According to Dynotech those pipes don't produce any more H.P than the stock pipes. 86.8hp @ 8000rpm with the stockers...Same H.P. with the PSI pipes but at a higher rpm (8750)

In 1984 I purchased a new V-Max, and put almost 4000 miles on it that season. The following season I bought a set of AAEN's pipes, and installed them.Olav told me to clutch it for 8700 @ full shift, which I did. The sled lost ALL it's corner to corner torque/backshift, and only gained 1-2 mph on top end with good to very good snow/trail/lake conditions. Overall it was a BIG mistake and a WASTE of money....
