Every year or so we take a huge hit from spam bots. These attacks take me hours to clean up. None of the regular security questions seem to last forever before they are broken. Therefore I have made any new users need me to manually approve them. We don't get a ton of new users so its not a huge deal. HOWEVER i manage a lot of websites and get a lot of emails everyday so if you go un noticed please try again.
