UPDATE! Well got the sled out sunday, I put the bored out 38's back on and upped the jetting 25 on the mains. Got the jetting close, WOT = 1275 degrees left cyl. and 1225 degrees right cyl. After reading some posts in hear I'm beginning to wonder if it was a stuck thermostat. At no point did the guage move up towards the red. If you have a volt meter you can test the lighting coils very easily without disassembly. The wire plugs that are just in front of the black recoil and come out of the back of the stator coil. How do you now there was no compression? Compression tester are cheap you should buy one and test it. Did you pull the starter rope immediately after it died to see if the motor was locked up? well, last year I ran the sled with just the update porting and bored carbs to 39.5mm when i finally got it tuned It flew! Opsled! What do you think of this porting job?
Any thoughts on this porting job for my 83 V-Max. Updated porting specs were done. Lower transfer ports also opened and general cleanup.
