Re: 86 Vmax Resto

Often its the knee action on the struts that freezes up. Sometime soaking and working the bolts will do it, often it takes heat. I have drilled out reamed them for a larger size bushing and started over but it solved the problem

Re: 86 Vmax Resto

Not sure on newer Yami stuff. I put a Pol. xtra 10 in mine, very happy easy to find because their were so many, watch for one with Fox shocks, their rebuildable and good. Also put on in my SRV, almost a bolt in swap. There are articles showing the new bolt locations of people will post them. Search ...

Re: jetting

I have several different set ups in my notes, different due to changes in engine as I worked it out and changed things. Several other things to note. Outside air temp is big differance, dialed in at 40 deg is most likely not safe at 0 deg. ALSO, more heat will build in piston on a 3/4 mile run on a ...

Re: 84 Vmax won't start

For some reason, before I owned it, someone had moved the box to under the plastic over by the left side foot well. To do that he made basically an extension cord for all the wires to run over there, it ran under the engine. the wire was not worn through the colored plastic, but was broke inside the...

Is there a middle ground anymore?

As I watch my face book friends, people I know, etc, it seems the sides are sharply divided. With the popularity of social media today Is there more and more pressure to side up rather then possibly picking views on particular issues which maybe less mainstream? I would say I'm pretty conservative, ...

Re: My bucket-list moment this weekend.

Tough question, almost all of my sleds are altered in some way, however almost all of my sleds I got for dam near nuthin and were not in shape to be a good resto project when I got them. I also believe that a toy should be what you want it to be. Both the SRV and the V Max have Pol. xtra 10 skids, i...

Re: My bucket-list moment this weekend.

I guess I'm one of those people that believes we can do anything, the questions comes down to how much time do you want into the project. On my SRV and V Max I went with the Pol Xtra 10 set up. Several reasons, cheap, easy to do, reversable if I want to. We have a business building race engines for ...

Guys I always throw out this little add for DynoTech. They are still around and still offer the same great service of offering this info and info on almost every sled from the 80's on up to current. All the archives are there, all the articles by Kevin Cameron, all of it is still online and the cost...

Re: Hood Crack Repair Help needed

I've used the same basic deal on quite a few sled, no problems, some repairs have held for 20 years
