Lowering cup
This is what i did to lower the front end of my 84 vmax. i found a piece of pipe that was the correct diameter and added like 3 inches in the center of the cup. This drops the spring and drops the front end. Sorry i don't remember exactly how much i added, and i have yet to test it in race mode. I d...

Re: What too look for when buying
they are pretty much all beat. your just trying to find one that is worth restoring. if you want to go completely stock, the STOCK windshields and ski tip rubber are probably the hardest things to find. if you just want to ride then just worry about the motor, everything else is fairly cheap and ava...

Re: 81 SRX with 38mm carbs?
i have always heard that when you put carbs from a vmax on a srx you can start with stock vmax settings. so therefore i would think you could start with non-power jet settings from a vmax. whether or not you can find some specs on non-power jet 38's for a vmax i dont know. a search may turn somethin...

Re: Ported intake? see pictures
yeah its been awhile since i have had my 84 carbs apart but im pretty sure i have the needles and it runs just fine. The chokes might need adjusted. i have mine adjusted so that the spring just barely has compression on it when they are put together.

Re: Ported intake? see pictures
yeah those enrichener plugs or "chokes" should be fine. some have those needles, some don't. i think the needles just keep the plugs centered better, but sometimes they get corroded and make the plugs stick even worse. run what you have. For a little bit of comfort, check to make sure both...

Re: Reichard roller secondary jackshaft kit
thats pretty awesome! but i wonder if you can find parts for it? or even different helixs. i guess since the shaft is keyed for 1" then maybe you could run polaris secondarys that are a dime a dozen? i think the shaft is worth about as much to me as the clutch

Re: headlight goes out
actually my EGT's are powered by the battery because withOUT the headlight on (lit) they cut out just above idle and dont come back on until it idles back down. almost like they are getting too much voltage. the OP hasn't commented since bob pointed out that the digitron gauges are most likely batte...
