Re: '81 SRX reverse cam secondary
Yes the reverse cam off of the newer Yamaha's will fit your secondary shaft. Start with N1 weights and the purple spring in the comet, you will need to clutch it to run at 9000-9250 rpm's. This should get you started..

Re: Powerbloc in my 81 SRX
I don't think that is a strong enough for the HP or RPM of the 81 SRX, I would upgrade to a 102c, Polaris P85 or something like that.

They didn't come with round slide carbs so who knows what they are from or jetted like. It also used a 102C Comet not ...

Re: 83 V-Max Throttle Question
Tony You have the correct handle & switch as far as the knob goes. The 85 & up had a 3 wire switch but every thing else was the same. The original 83 wasn't like the 81 82 SRX with the red rubber cap but just like the one you have on your sled. It is correct..

Yamaha listed the 83 at 452 lbs dry and the others at 472 lbs dry. I never weighed any but that is what Yamaha said.

Re: Testing for Gearbox/Water Pump leaks???
Mark.. This is one of the way's I check them, it may not be the best but I think it is a very simple way. If the engine runs let it cool down and if you have pressure at the radiator cap then you probably have a good none leaking seal. if it leaks by the seal the pressure will just escape out the ge...
