oops, this was for the guy askin if 540 cyls will fit srx crankcase...

i always wondered if they could be interchangable. although i think it would work better if the cylinders off the 440 were put on the 540 lower half...at one time i had both engines side by side and i was able to put the 540 head on the 440 lower end, so i dont see why it wouldnt work....

on this site go to article index then click on tuning data to get jetting. throttle cable off v-max should work. also if you dont run an airbox i would start rich on the jetting...

you talkin about the probes that go into the pipes themself. if so i think dennis kirk sells them seprately.

seems to me the water pump seal went bad. a common problem with these sleds. not to mention its 20 years old.........

brand new still in the box comet 108-C clutch. has the spring and weights installed for the V-MAX engine. i paid over $360 it was never installed. will sell for $300 shipped anywhere in the USA

when can we expect for this to be done....

nothin here but rain too. luckily i dont own a new sled makin payments on it just to look at it. like my buddy....hahaha

hi brad, have you done this before. i figured i would need to go a couple sizes bigger on the main. also its a reed motor so if i can find individual manifolds maby i could run dual carbs, (something off a rupp nitro, maby). thanks for the info....chris

have you been just starting it and just letting it idle and the ocasional blips with the throttle. just wondering if you got a fouled plug from not letting it run hard. change the plugs and run it around the yard, if you got the room.

does anyone know of any good websites for the first generation exciters...? i got a 79 ex 440 and was wondering if a set of srx pipes could be adapted. looks like it should work. i had a 74 GPX i did this to and it worked pretty good.

shoot, i dont have any way to post pics, but the mounts look stock . right now the back part of the rear suspension is not using these holes. it mounts to some holes just above these other mounts. looks like if i could use the other holes it would raise the suspension in the rear...

i would give my left nut for a 73 alouette super 650.....
