I finally got a chance to dig into my 85 v max today. I did some ohm checks on the stator Based on the 86 specs from the article index. I think my fuel cutoff switch worked. I had the fuel lines off the carbs and I pulled it a couple times looking for spark and pretty much shot old fuel everywhere. So I pulled the lever and tried it again and no fuel shots. The cable still needs to be cleaned up but at least its working.

Well I changed my CDI to a used one that is supposed to be good and still no spark. I tried 2 different ECU's and still no spark. I have no ignition switch so its just an open plug. Am I missing something or do I need to start ohming out coils? Also could it still be the cdi? The one that I took out...

I was trying to take off my seat tonight. I started turning the nuts under the tunnel and it appears the entire bolt is spinning. What is the best way to fix this problem? Do I have to cut them or is there a good trick to remove them so I can take the seat off. The front bolts were already broke and...

WOW i didn't realize how burried so deep. No wonder the previous owner didn't want to fix it.

And its not that there isn't a key. There is no ignition switch there at all. So it has to be unplugged

The air box is out right now. I plan to leave it out, get everything plugged in and check for spark before I pull the carbs to clean them.
