What happend?
Where did all the February posts go? I'm not too concerned cuz I just sold my Vmax last weekend...I'm just curious.
BTW: Removing one bolt from an airbox to shed weight is stupid.

Secondary Clutch positions for radar runs?
I'm taken my Vmax to a radar run in the next few weeks. I'm running a 108c with a dark blue polaris spring (not installed yet). I just went through my secondary clutch and put the spring to the stock positions: C2. Where should I have my spring at for high speed ice runs? http://upload5.postimage.or...

It runs again!
After finding water leaking out of my outer mag seal, something in the gear housing locked up. I got a gear housing and crankshaft delivered from ebay today and slammed it back together. 8 hours of non-stop work and it runs again. YAY! Hopefully I get more than 3 hours worth of riding this time befo...

Sorry to hear about your iginition problem, my 83 has been a basket case since I bought it a month ago. I had to remove my stator to replace the lighting coil. If I were in your shoes I would begin by removing your stator and inspecting it. I would also ohm out the wires and do a wiggle test (wiggle...

Cylinder porting on 83 V-Max 540
I had to remove the engine to replace the gear housing on my '83. As long as it was out, I decided to tear the motor down to replace all the seals. While it was apart I decided to do some mild porting on my intake and exhaust ports. Go here for pics; http://www.standupjetski.com/vmax.htm One cranksh...

I'm not exactly sure what the problem was to cause it to not turn over. It was either the water pump impeller gear or that rusted bearing that rides on the crankshaft. I knew there was a coolant leak and I took my chances. Either way it had to be repaired sometime. I got a gearcase and crankshaft of...

83 V-max Project...what isn't wrong with it?/!
Go here http://www.standupjetski.com/vmax.htm for my 83 V-Max project. I'm in the process of going through everything and have learned a lot from this experience. Having been a prior owner of a brand new SRX 700 and a current owner of a Yamaha Superjet stand-up jetski; I have a passion for yamaha pr...

Primary clutch removal tip
After a long struggle to get my primary clutch off using the proper tool, I decided to use hydraulic force and it worked effortlessly. I filled the clutch hole with grease from my grease gun until it was complety full. Then I used the clutch removal tool and after maybe 5 turns of the bolt and no ef...

My V-max never made it out of the garage for the trip. It stopped running while idling and it wouldn't turn over. I removed the gear housing and the bearing is rusted and shot, I think the impeller is f'd up too cuz that barely spins. Oh well. I'll have it goin again in a couple days. I've got the m...

aaen egt guage
My sled has an aaen egt guage but there are no wires (harness) for it. Anybody know where to get one? Did this guage originally come on an 83 Vmax?
Any info is greatly appreciated
