If I had a 8R9 chassis I would try to find the parts to make a real 82 SRX. Starting with a RT 499 motor crankcase would be the next step.
I have one rt 499 but ...no chassis. Too bad for me.

Lucky I am. I do have 2 80N carbs with the original air box..!! That should do at best.

I know it is an old question but I am replacing the original carbs by Mikuni round slide 38 mm and would like to know with what parts inside to have a safe runner.
I will not use the air box but *K & N* filters. Please any help appreciated.

Montreal is about 75 miles from the Lacolle border and I am 60 north of Mtl but I would bring the sled out of Mtl. toward the border.

I could not get the bulkhead from Mike cause too big for shipping and becoming too expensive for a bulkh.. so I decided to buy a complete chassis.
I should have it in spring. In the meanwhile I bought a 91 (88B) with a broken motor. But that is another project.

I found a bulkhead and should go on with the resto. later.

The project is put aside cause the bulkhead is bended and not in line with the tunnel !!
I would have to change it and dont know if it is worth the labor to restore the sled.
