Re: wtb ski

You want the fat original ski right, i probably have one, give me a couple of days to look, I could meet you, I am in rockford everyday.
Ski will probably need to be sanded and painted.

See where the white part on the seal is and part off the seal is missing, I would say that is the culprit right there (sucking air leaned it out) From the looks of the head the left (PTO) side is running WAY rich. Also that head is junk unless you get it machined. http://www.postimage.org/aVjrTD0.jpg

I think those only installed to eliminate dirt and dust from getting in the air jet.
If dirt does get in the air jet it will go a LITTLE rich. No big deal.

Thanks for confirming that. I thought there might be. Got the sled together this past weekend and fortunately (or unfortunately ) my belt is worn enough that it sits flush with the top of the clutch. Thanks for that tip jipcee. So I'll add hunting down a spacer to my list. Thanks again. Flush with ...

When you say "seems like a large spacer is missing" I'm not sure where you are talking about. There should only be shims on the inside of the secondary. The easiest way to find out how many shims you need is to take the secondary apart and put 2 shims in and slide the sheeves back together...

I'm not familiar with that type of carb. But if you call a Gary at Fox Distributing he can help you. (630) 513-9700 9am-4pm central time.
He is a Mikuni parts distributor and is very helpful.
He also stocks most all parts and will ship same day.

What is a good EGT reading at part throttle? My Polaris is running about 1450 at part throttle and 1200 at WOT. The pipes are getting rusty like I have never seen before. If I richen the midrange to get the temperature down, It developes a serious mid range bog. Usually if you run more than 1300 de...

I've never had to use a bleeder screw. Just remove the radiator cap and run the sled on a stand let it warm up (feel heat exchangers) add coolant as it goes down. About ten minutes ought to do it.
