This forum seems very dead... But i found out through my pictures the rubber bands are for the external gas sylinder on the skid shock.
The yellow/black wire is for left hand warmer.

Re: 86 Vmax Resto
Unsure about the wiring for the hand warmers. There is a yellow/black and a black wire coming from the wire harness. The hand warmers connectors are all black.
Any suggestion how this is supposed to be connected?

Re: 87 max
The fuel pumps are Mikuni DF52. Repair kits are available from most dealers. Just rebuilt the fuel pumps on my 86 Vmax. Just make shure to take pics before taking them apart. The layout on the outlets are not the same on both.

What bushing is supposed to be on the pivot arms?
There is some slop without any bushing.

Re: Secondary clutch bushing
Not the bimetal bushing, but the one on the sliding sheave. Maybe that one is not replaceable.... Have a grove in that bushing.

Re: 86 Vmax Resto
Found new crank bearings. Until the engine is rebuilt i have lots of work left on the frame.
Started grinding rust from the frame.
There are lots of great info on that thread, but not the particular info i was after. namely what Koyo/SKF bearing fits the crank....

Re: 86 Vmax Resto
This engine will need new crank bearings and new pistons. Anyone know of a good supplier for crank bearings? Some of the bearings are not available anymore, but must be some SKF/Koyo bearings that matches the original...?

Re: 86 Vmax Resto
hmm, have to get those clutches off to see if there are any id stamps on it.
The T.S.S. are stuck, probably rusted. Haven't got to look more closely at those. But will need to rebuild the shocks if possible.
Or aren't there any parts available anymore?
