Looking for an SRX 500 bottom for my restoration. As I have understood, some of this engines was supplied to racers during 81/82 in US, so there should be possible to get some engine parts out there. Do not need to have the correct RT499 gear house, just crank with correct marking and up/lower part....

Hi Mathis. Looks like original clutch. Yamaha had comet primary clutch as default on this sleds. Around me, there is alot of companies that perform powdercoating. Are you member of norwegian facebook page snøscooter veteran og klassikere? Here you will find alot of other people with same interest.

Congratulation with one of the few 86 left here in Norway. Keep it orignale with the "gold" rails . I will try to use a company in Oslo, that clean both aluminium and steel with acid, for all my parts. Then powdercoat.

This sled have finally found it's way back to me, after an long journey. I am "Arne", that post the picture of it here at vintagevmax in year 1999/2000. I will soon make a new tread of it's new journey- to be restored as an original SRX 500 (8R9).
