Re: The Infamous 1983 Pump Drive Gear seal for the water pump !
Sorry actually just saved my post. I ordered the bearing and seals. By the time it hit my door, Erie Bearing company cost me 100 dollars for two of Taiwan's finest junk bearings and seals. Not only were the prices expensive, I paid a 30 dollar HANDLING?? fee, big duty and huge shipping. Nice huh? Th...

Oh, and to top it all off. The bearings and seals were small enough to be sent in a bubble packed small envelope.

Re: 1981 SRX Carb change and Coil Relocate
TYVM for the reply bob. I have a vintage racing buddy that works at the local supply store for sled and atv stuff. He hooked me up with the proper needles and such. I am running UFO's to try and kill some of the temperature variance. As far as main jetting is concerned, i'm starting out with 380's a...

1981 SRX Carb change and Coil Relocate
I'm deleting the airbox and am wondering if their is kind of a common spot to relocate the coil as it screws to the airbox. I want that airbox goneski

81 SRX 440 Carbs
Sled came with the butterflies. I heard how tough they can be. Then a SRX guy told me that they are awesome if they are clean. What I would LIKE to do is put on 40mm roundslides and K and N filters then dial it in from there. Am I way out in left field here? Or can I "mod" it like this wit...

Carb Boots 1981 SRX
1981 SRX has the back rubbers that are attached on the airbox but it didn't come with the metal screw on clamps to tighten the boot to the airbox. How crucial is this? Anybody know of a good way to fix it if I don't have the clamps? Better yet, anybody have clamps?? I can be reached at buckylutzs@ms...

if you have the bushings that go between the front torsion springs and the shaft that they mount on that would be awesome

Re: 1981 SRX 440 Suspension
I need a 40 chuck. Do you have. Two of them to be exact. Collars or bushings, whatever you may that go on the shaft that the torsion spring rides on. To snug it up I assume

1981 SRX 440 Suspension
Ok, my undercarriage was pretty flat when I got it. Standard I think. Should my skid have springs underneath on the front arm or on the side at the front. Like a phazer skid? The service manual shows yes. Not too clear if its yes or no. they really don't look like they have anywhere to go.

Re: 1981 SRX Shock(s)?
TY for the useful links. The conclusion I am drawing is: All sleds of the years you mention with vmax and exciter in the years you provided all have a rear shock and no center shock. I believe this is original Yamaha suspension I have. Will that 8203 fit in the centre position that looks like it nee...

1981 SRX Shock(s)?
Should there be 2 shocks in the rear skid? I bought a used one that seems fine except one missing bogey wheel but I see attachments for a shock but have no clue as to what the eye to eye length is. There is a skid for sale on EBAY and I noticed it has no shock either. And OF COURSE you can't get the...
