Clutch Puller Issue

Years ago I had to replace my original clutch, I got a 108EXP to change it to (which I am repalcing now). The puller that I used on the orginal one was a bit short, so I put a dowl pin in the crankshaft, which worked. Now years ago, I had to pull that 108 and what a PITA. I bent two pullers before I...

Re: 102C Clutch with rear oil seal

OK I picked up a clutch with the seal (the one in the 102 vs 108 links 208300A). It looks like it will work just fine, I think the seal will not matter at all. I did talk with Don at CPC (the saem Don that used to work at Comet), he said you can simpli unscrwew the seal, but I don;t even think it ma...

Re: 102C Clutch with rear oil seal

Yeah it is one fo the clutches listed in the 102 vs 108 thread. Teh only difference stated is where the taper starts (.140 vs .245), so as long as the seal is not an issue you should just sapce teh secondary out .105, assuming that is OK.

102C Clutch with rear oil seal

I am looking to use a 203800A clutch. It comes with an oil seal on the back side. Can I just remove this seal and use the clutch? WIll there be any other changes I need to make to the clutch?
Thanks

Re: now im p!&&ED

Yeah an easy out is really hard you need something harder than it. Carbide is your only choice really. Youll just burn anything else up.

Re: now im p!&&ED

A cobalt bit is not going to do anything to that tap, you'll need a carbide bit and its going to be tough, carbide bits have about no flex.

Re: secondary belt height

Well I got it together and the belt sits just over the sheaves a little bit. With the sled in the sir, the track occasionaly inches a bit. This is how I set up my drag sled, I think it shoud be good as is, but I need to chekc the offset, 14mm? Is that from the back of the secondary to the inside of ...

Re: secondary belt height

DId some reading here and figured out some things, I have a 108EXP on it. Now can this casue my problem of belt being too tight? I put that clutch on when I first got the sled and forgot about it, I was really new into sleds then. Now its time to get it right. I have the black mark as well, but alwa...

Thanks

secondary belt height

I just changed the belt on my 83, the belt seems a bit tight. The top of the belt is just below the outside of the sheaves. What is the correct belt height? If it is supposed to be hgiher than the sheaves (like an AC) the belt would be way to too tight. If the way it is is normal, I think it may nee...

Mixed up powerjects

My carbs were gummed up and motor wouldn;t run, so I dissassembled and soaked everything, not realizing there was two seperate sized air/power jets. I saw no marking to indicate which was what and had no pin gages available, so I pretty much guessed. The motor seems to run fine, how big of a deal is...
